Limelight Performers are approaching our 6th Anniversary as a charity and 7th year as a group, and in this time we’ve already worked with over 300 participants from the local area, and continuing to grow month to month.
We’re very excited to share that we feel that we’re now approaching the time for us to look to open our own premises! We'd like this to have rehearsal spaces, props & costume rooms, set workshops, office space, and lots more - and so this is a really exciting prospect for us!
It’s very early days, but even at this point there’s going to be a lot of fees involved in early feasibility studies and investigating options of buildings. This means we’re launching a local fundraiser and would be delighted if you’d like to support.
As part of this, we’ve opened an online raffle, where for just £1 per ticket, you can be entered into a draw to have a chance to win 2 tickets to every production we put on in 2027 (we’re expecting 8 shows!). There’ll only be one winner, but the prize will be worth over £200 so it’s well worth an entry!

We're looking for a guitarist to join the band for our Limelight Young Performers production of Disney's Camp Rock, taking place at Dance East in June.

Parts are available to look at now, and include electric and acoustic guitar, with a combination of chords and notation reading. We have a mixed band already, so would encourage skilled players of any age to get in touch.
To keep everyone equal across our productions, we unfortunately can’t offer payment for this position, but do have a range of benefits to offer
in exchange for taking part and can cover all expenses.

Limelight Performers!
The new local theatre group in Suffolk.
Welcome to Limelight Performers! We are an amateur musical theatre group and registered charity based in Ipswich, Suffolk. We produce high quality productions throughout the year, across a mix of different age groups (9+), performing in various wonderful local venues, and are always aiming to make theatre accessible to as many people as possible. To do this, we keep our ticket prices and membership fees as low as we can - and hold open auditions for all productions which anyone can attend. We create a variety of opportunities year round, and hope you'll join us to see what we do or have your chance to be 'in the limelight' too!

There's lots of ways you can support us (see here for details), but did you know that whenever you buy anything online – from your weekly shop to your annual holiday – you could be raising free donations for Limelight Performers with easyfundraising?
There are over 4,000 shops and sites on board ready to make a donation – including eBay, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com and M&S – and it won’t cost you a penny extra to help us raise funds.
